Sunset times by coordinates
Enter latitude and longitude, choose a city or click the map. Select the date and the location’s IANA time zone: your device’s zone may be different. The monthly table includes every twilight event and can be exported as CSV or JSON.
How the NOAA calculation works
The browser calculates solar declination and the equation of time using the NOAA/Meeus equations. Sunrise and sunset use a solar centre altitude of −0.833°. Civil, nautical and astronomical twilight use −6°, −12° and −18°. Solar noon is the meridian transit.
Times assume an unobstructed horizon near sea level. Mountains, altitude and weather affect what you see. The recommended date range is 1900–2100. Daylight is the time above the sunrise threshold within the selected civil day; daylight-saving transitions can make that day 23 or 25 hours long.
Frequently asked questions
Why can sunset differ from another calculator?
Check the coordinates, date and time zone. Refraction, elevation and the local horizon also affect observed sunset.
What happens during polar day or night?
An absent event is shown as a dash. Daylight is calculated even if sunrise or sunset does not occur that day. Each twilight threshold is treated independently.
