NZMG and NZGD1949
The New Zealand Map Grid (EPSG:27200) was the national grid until 2000, on the NZGD1949 datum. The converter uses LINZ's official distortion grid to NZGD2000, accurate to 0.1–1 m, downloaded only when your point is in New Zealand. If it cannot be loaded, it falls back to LINZ's 7-parameter transformation, accurate to about 4 m.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is NZMG to NZTM?
About 0.1–1 m with LINZ's distortion grid, which the converter uses, or about ±4 m if only the 7-parameter transformation is available. The accuracy actually applied is shown next to the result.
