Canadian UTM with a specified datum version
This page offers NAD83(CSRS)v6 in UTM zones 19N–21N (EPSG:22619–22621). The version matters: a generic NAD83 or NAD83(CSRS) label does not identify every realization or epoch. The NSCRS control coordinates used for these tests are at epoch 2010.0.
At NSCM 201584, the published zone 21 coordinates are E = 280006.277 m and N = 5118117.220 m. Keep the zone with the two numbers; UTM eastings repeat from one zone to another.
Coverage and precision
Only zones 19N, 20N and 21N are offered in this family, matching the official NSCRS control sets included in the repository. The projections reproduce those published values to below 1 mm.
The GPS output approximates NAD83(CSRS)v6 by WGS84 with a catalogued accuracy of 2 m. It does not transform between Canadian datum versions, apply crustal velocities or compute a new coordinate epoch.
UTM is not MTM NS 2010
UTM uses 6° zones and an ordinary 500,000 m false easting. Nova Scotia MTM uses narrower zones and much larger datum/zone prefixes. Select the family from the source metadata, not just the size of the northing. Source: Nova Scotia Coordinate Referencing System.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this page for UTM zone 17N?
No. This family currently includes only 19N–21N with official control sets. Do not choose a nearby zone to reinterpret a zone 17 coordinate.
