GDA94 and MGA94
GDA94 was Australia's datum from 2000 until GDA2020. Plenty of plans and datasets still use MGA94 (EPSG:28349–28356). The converter applies the ICSM 7-parameter transformation between GDA94 and GDA2020, which matches Geoscience Australia's example to the millimetre.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still use GDA94?
Yes, for existing datasets, but new work should use GDA2020. The difference is about 1.8 m.
