The Irish Grid
The Irish Grid (EPSG:29903) is the traditional map grid of Ireland and Northern Ireland, on the TM75 datum and the modified Airy ellipsoid. It is still common in Northern Ireland and on older maps. The converter uses the published 7-parameter transformation, tested against the official OSi/LPS check points to better than 1 m.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use the Irish Grid or ITM?
For new work in the Republic of Ireland, use ITM. The Irish Grid remains in use in Northern Ireland and on legacy datasets.
