Two Malaysian RSO grids
GDM2000 / Peninsula RSO (MRSO, EPSG:3375) serves Peninsular Malaysia; GDM2000 / East Malaysia BRSO (EPSG:3376) serves Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. This page follows JUPEM’s Northing, Easting order. A pair without its grid and datum is ambiguous.
The JUPEM MRSO example gives N = 679690.914 m, E = 266843.898 m at latitude 6°08′22.98892″ N and longitude 100°23′06.57684″ E. The separate BRSO example checks the other branch.
GDM2000 is not every grid called RSO
Older RSO maps may use MRT68, Kertau or Timbalai reference systems. Their numbers cannot be interpreted as GDM2000 just because the projection name contains RSO. Check the full coordinate system definition before converting.
The two GDM2000 RSO projections match the published JUPEM examples within 1 mm. The datum-to-WGS84 approximation is catalogued at 1 m through EPSG:10543; it is not a JUPEM time-dependent transformation.
Revisions and scope
GDM2000 revisions and GDM2020 should be kept distinct in survey records. This page does not apply earthquake deformation or propagate coordinates between epochs. Source: JUPEM coordinate reference system guidelines.
Frequently asked questions
Do I enter E before N?
For this family, enter Northing before Easting, as in the JUPEM examples. The output detail explicitly shows N, E.
